#HolladayMaker: Sonia Rykiel Forever

I was so sad to read of fashion designer Sonia Rykiel's passing.  I always felt she was a somewhat underappreciated designer in the US - after discovering my first Rykiel (a striped sweater) at a second hand store.  Though her flirty, fun mainstays were knits & stripes, she was no knitwit.   She sought to empower women through clothing - often photographing models with books - a message we totally endorse!  We know her house will endure, but never be the same - our tribute a pictorial homage to her.  With a few shoppable goodies at the bottom of the gallery.  What's your fave piece?  Vintage Gorgeousness I want that stripey swimsuit and inner tube! #HolladayMaker: Lulu Guinness

I first became enamored with British designer Lulu Guinness’ makeup cases and handbags years ago.   They had the cutest prints and patterns (like the tiled bathroom bag that you can see in our Beauty Fridge youtube video here.)   I own way more than I need.  But they make storage and putting on your glam so cheerful!  Here are some things from her 2016 collection that I’d spread cheer with ; ) I’d upgrade my iPhone for this lipstick 6s case Give the boys in baggage claim a laugh with her whimsical lips suitcase!   and XOXO my vanity with this lips makeup case See more of her fab 2016 bags, totes and backpacks at LuluGuinness.com

While we're at it. . . I'm smitten with the designer outfits at the opening ceremonies.  I mean Canada outfitted by Dsquared2 with the friendliest maple leaf ever, Denmark glammed up by H&M and Cuba looking like they're having a retro clambake in their Christian Louboutain...
